Our Free
“Steps to Start & Make Your Business Successful”
workshops are offered several times per month at several locations on the
Treasure Coast. They are taught by both SCORE and SBDC business experienced
instructors and are sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce, Fort Pierce Library and the
Martin County Library
Systems.
How to Start a Small
Business
If you have been thinking starting your own small business, but don’t
really know where to begin, sign up for this workshop, which will
provide you with information about Startup Fundamentals, Marketing and
Business Planning, Financing, Licenses, Employee Issues, Business
Structures, Taxation and Regulations. After this session you will be
better able to decide if your business idea is worth pursuing, and
you’ll be armed with the information you’ll need to take the next steps.

UNDERSTANDING FLORIDA SALES TAX
This workshop is great for consumers, as well as business owners &
operators. It clearly describes who must collect Florida Sales Taxes,
and for what. You will learn about a "Reseller's Certificate", what your
responsibilities are, and what the procedures are for collecting and
filing. In addition, you will learn about possible rebates and credits.
